Who is this program for?

¨ Malabar Middle School students who completed the Connect 4 program during the ’06-’07 school year.

¨ Malabar Middle School students who graduated from the Summer Program.

¨ Any Malabar Middle School student who has been recommended by the principal, teacher and /or counselor.

¨  ANY MALABAR STUDENT who needs a safe-place to hang-out after school.

Purpose:

¨ To increase academic performance in READING and MATH.

¨ To benefit the social, emotional and spiritual health needs of the                 students.

¨ To assist in areas of academic need.

REGISTRATION:

¨ All students who attended Connect 4 last year must register for the ‘07 - ‘08 year.

¨ To register your child, complete the enclosed form and return it to the First Alliance Church.   You will then be sent a Parental Consent and a Medical Release Form to be filled out by a parent/guardian and also returned to First Alliance Church. 

¨ Registration is on a first come-first serve policy.  We are limited to 60 students in our U-Turn program. 

ATTENDANCE AND BEHAVIOR

¨ Regular attendance is a must.  You are not allowed to continue in the   U-Turn program with too many absences.

¨ More than TWO behavior incidences will result in your child being asked not to return to U-Turn.

¨ All students will be expected to follow the
Student Code of Conduct.

¨ DO NOT bring CD players or cell phones, etc.

SNACKS

A light snack will be
available each day.

 

Wednesdays

“Dinner On Us”

Time 5:30 - 6:30 PM

Each Wednesday we will offer dinner     for all students.

PARENTS ARE INVITED TOO! 

Forget about cooking on Wednesdays and join us!  

PROGRAMS:

 ¨ Homework Help

 ¨ Academic Focus:

   To help students develop
   fluency in reading and
   math.

 ¨ Enrichment Classes:

   Social, emotional and
   spiritual enrichment
   opportunities - 
   presented in a fun and
   creative way.

TRANSPORTATION

 ¨ U-Turn program will provide
    transportation home provided
    that they live more than 2 miles
    from Malabar.

¨ Parents who choose to pick up their child at 5:15 PM, must be ON-TIME.  If you are late more than three times, you child will be asked not to return to the U-Turn program.  We cannot ask our workers to stay overtime to wait with them.  They will NOT be allowed to wait out on school grounds on their own.

PICK-UP IS 5:15 PM
